Happy Disability Pride Month! VOX is hosting and supporting at many events this month. We were honored as a Model Equity Organization for 2025! In June, we completed a survey for Porchfest for Arlington Center for the Arts, celebrated Juneteenth at Embrace Honors, and delivered accessibility and communication access for The Theater Offensive’s QUEER [RE]PUBLIC FESTIVAL and BAMS Fest. Plus, ASK ME FAIR is coming, and the teaser trailer for our DeafBlind training modules with Silent Rhythms is out! Mark your calendars, grab your tickets, and spread the word – your presence contributes to

Disability Joy spaces!

QUEER [RE]PUBLIC FESTIVAL

It was an honor to share the space and uplift queer and trans artists of color, their voices and their work. Think Outside the Vox provided and supported the festival’s Accessibility with Open Captions, tactile tours, Audio Description and ASL interpretation with creatively and culturally competent teams. We appreciate all of the Vox and TTO teams who made this possible: DASL Ivy Vélez, performing ASL interpreters Jessenia Kolaco and Atlas Mirrione, ASL Coordinator, Kristin Johnson. Audio Description team Kwaku Darko, Eddie Maisonet and Olivia Reinebach. Captioners, site interpreters, sighted guides and accessibility support: Emit Solomon, Halle Brockett, Emani Dixon-Younger, Mikey Rose, Ingrid O’Dell and Sam Gould. Congratulations to Giselle Byrd, Des Bennett, and all of TTO folks on creating a joyful and meaningful experience!
