Deaf-centered Production Support for DJ DeafTunez and Museum of Science

Think Outside the Vox consulted with Museum of Science on Deaf-centered production values: optimal lighting and camera angles, accurate timing with English captions and voiceover, and capturing the ASL content – both the linguistic nuances, technical signing and overall expression of Deaf identity and perspective. Cultural competency for this project included Christopher Robinson with his ASL/English interpreting experience, voice and perspective to capture Black Deaf storytelling, with Olivia Reinebach, a Hard of Hearing artist and access coordinator with experience in production, ASL/English storytelling and also an employee at Museum of Science. She also developed a descriptive transcript (combination of dialogue and visual description) for the thirty-second reel on socials and 5-minute segment on YouTube.
