Speed Dating for Arts Orgs: CARE Fair on October 19th

Collective Action Resource Exchange. What do you have? What do you need? October 19th, 10am-2pm.

VOX and RoxFilm invite nonprofit leaders in Middlesex and greater Boston to the second CARE Fair, Monday October 19th, 10am-2pm at Sanctuary in Maynard. What we learned the first time is that orgs undervalue their assets and have abundant talent but need back-office bandwidth. Everyone left with more than they came with; we started a grant “phone-a-friend” partner resource when you need a 30-minute double-check before submitting an application.

Free event with lunch provided: in addition to the in-person event, nonprofits are invited to join the CARE network, an online database that continues the sharing and connections. The second CARE Fair is made possible with funding support from the Community Foundation for MetroWest.
Join the CARE Fair Movement and network.

Our CCAD Level 2 is for working describers to level up. We will focus on accessibility, best practices, refinement of craft and how to work well with your team, including a project on an actual piece of work so prepare for homework. Blind/LV and Sighted Describers based in MA and NY are encouraged to apply.

Congratulations to the VOX William Tell AD team delivering CCAD at all performances with rave reviews from Blind patrons: Matthew Shifrin (Season AD Blind Expert) is an opera-trained composer; Gwen Coburn (Audio Describer) has opera training as well and Lali Haines (Surtitle Narrator) brings French fluency.

VOX is proud to partner with Boston Lyric Opera to provide what we think may be a first in Boston Opera history: Audio Description for ALL performances of its mainstage productions this season! Next up: A Streetcar Named Desire November 5-8.

This is a theater-specific ASL video glossary of backstage and front-of-house terminology that will be publicly available.
